The Bachelors-Femina Club of Cebu, Traditional Annual Reception & Innocents Day Ball

I am sure some of us has been able to see shows like Gossip Girl. The glam, the style, the beauty of it all? Well, gathered aound in one hall, the prominent families of Cebu.  In a party for a cause, these families show what they can. Dressed in their beautiful gowns while the men in their delicate Barongs.

The Rigodon Dance was  a fancy dance and was truly a labor of love. Although they did not really perfect it, but who needs perfect when you enjoy it? Yes, the men, in their barong, and the young women in their gowns, dancing the rhythm of classical music. One even commented at my back, “kalingaw ra pud nila noh? Ang mga bata nalingaw ra pud, basin pang tiguwang siya na sayaw.”

After the Rigodon Dance, they had their dinner with very delcious food. I am not to forget the sliced tomatoes served with olive oil, or everyone’s favorite, your one way ticket to High Blood Pressure: Lechon.

Then there was a Video Slide Presentation of the past events of BF. And which was then followed by the fun part: Freestyle Dancing. And with special DJ Bong.

SIAM Thai Cuisine

Name of Establishment: SIAM Thai Cuisine
Location: Ground Floor, The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu
Types of Food: Thai Cuisine
Over-all place: Perceptible of Thai Culture setting
Ratings (1-5): 3

When The Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu just opened its stalls with massive restaurants for both local and international shops, I just can’t wait to dine in each inviting restos every time I visit the place. One time, my Asian cravings and spicy diet is grumbling my tummies to devour something Thai cuisine. And with just me alone, my cell phone clock strikes to 11:30 am. I peeked at the side of Fully Booked and saw some welcoming gestures from SIAM.

Greetings:

When I first entered the door, I hear the greeting “Sawatdee Khrap” which means “Hello, good day, good morning, good afternoon or good evening” in Thai! Ooops, I think, personal instincts would tell you that it’s a welcome greeting just like when you say “Mabuhay” in Filipino or “Maayong Buntag or Udto or Gabi-e” in Cebuano. It sounds new to my ear though I know they would utter that generic greeting to their customers.

CBS Christmas Party 2008

December 13, 2008.  The Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) Christmas Party was one of the highlights of that day! After I’m done with my charitable works at Asilo dela Milagrosa with my SPUD (Paulinian) Family, I rushed ahead to McDo in JY to meet the CBS group who were waiting for other members there.   While they were waiting for others to come, I bought a box of cake roll from Red Ribbon.   Shortly after everyone arrived, we rode on a jeep which we persuasively conquered the seats to bring us to the Mendoza’s residence at Jardin de Busay! What a lovely place to relax and chill.

It is definitely a very ecstatic and momentous party I had with the group! Good thing, a number of us where able to catch up the said Christmas Party. With that, special mention and thanks to the Mendoza  family for being so kind in hosting the party! May God bless you more graces!

Belle de Jour comes to Cebu

I got converted to the Belle de Jour way when a friend in Manila sent me a Belle de Jour planner last year as a random gift. I loved it from the moment I lifted it from the package. It was not like the other planners or organizers that I’ve had. It had an expense tracker, a birthday tracker, a menstrual tracker, and a vacation tracker, to name few. There was a quote for the week every week, and every month there was a theme and tips for the season.

But the best part was that it came with 36 discount coupons to different boutiques and coffee shops!

So when I heard that Belle de Jour was soon releasing the 2009 power planner, I reserved mine right away. Here it is now!

It’s a lot better than the 2008 planner, although that one was already love. I especially like the cover design. It has more discount coupons, too! It has 60!

I’m not sure if Belle de Jour has been to Cebu in 2008, but I think not, because I didn’t see the planners sold anywhere here, and I didn’t hear of any Belle de Jour girls here. So when I received the invitation to the launch of the 2009 planner in Powerbooks Cebu, I signed up right away, even though I had an exam that day.

Wolfgang Black Christmas Project live in Cebu city

Wolfgang, Razorback, Powerspoonz and Cuarenta played energetic sets at Paseo Center, Mabolo, Cebu city last Friday, December 12, 2008 for the Cebu leg of Wolfgang Black Christmas Project. The event was brought to Cebu by BITE Magazine.

The crowd were still camping on the side of the stage boozing up. My colleague then arrived with his posse’ and positioned their table next to ours. Powerspoonz ended their set with these echoing last words “…magkaisa Pilipino!“…Razorback followed the stage that pumped up the Cebuano crowd. Trademark Razorback crowd and stage action with Manoy Lagarda sessioning as a guitarist to cover for David’s spot. Giyang was medly-ed with Bob Marley’s Exodus adding more umph or familiarity for the younger crowd…Man, there’s never a better set thanWolfgang. My voice was fading from singing along with every song that the band hammered that night. Nothing can’t go wrong…Fists filled the air from start to finish of “Darkness Fell” and assisted the body surfer in standing up after falling in the concrete floor midway of “Atomica.”
