August 21, 2009 - Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) decided to take on another role, this time as promoters of environmental awareness and preservation through a heritage tour.
Dubbed as Cebu Heritage Tour, the activity was spearheaded by Atty. Ethelbert Ouano, who owns LaagCebu.com. It is then the mission of the team to promote Cebu and the environment through a video and photo shoot session.
Different places were covered during the tour. These include Magellan’s Cross, Basilica del Sto. Nino, Colon Street, Cebu Capitol, Palace of Justice, Fuente Circle, Osmena Boulevard, and Mactan-Mandaue Bridge.
The tour was not limited to only historical sites, though. There were also new hotspots that were covered for the simple reason that they mirror the good developments that are happening in the city. These are IT Park, where majority of business processing outsourcing (BPO) companies are found; Cebu International Convention Center; and shopping malls like SM and Ayala Center-Cebu.
CBS members also took turns in delivering their spiels, which will serve as the voices for the different historical places that had just been covered.
Meanwhile, to whet their appetite, the entire team partook on a simple but delectable lunch at Larsian, a huge congregation of stalls selling barbecues, siomai, and ngohiong.
Of course, in a true-blue CBS fashion, the day ended with a lot of off-cam moments, captured through a series of photos shot by those who participated in the activity.
